Hi, I'm Kara.
It is a long time passion of mine to hold safe space for students to come home to themselves.
I am an E-RYT 200, RYT 500, CAYEP, Meditation teacher, & training to become an Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist. I've been hosting yoga wellness retreats on the Kenai Peninsula for several years & it brings me so much joy!
My teachings are trauma informed, evidence based, mental health aware, & connected to psycho education & neuroscience. My offerings are therapeutic and ease anxiety & depression.
My aim is to create a wellness experience carefully crafted to nourish not only the physical body, but the mental & emotional body as well.
There is a magical energy that comes with unplugging from everything and absorbing the natural wonders of the Alaskan forest.
When we take the journey inwards in a safe & healing environment we can process life in a radical way. It invites rest, nourishment, and authenticity towards yourself.
Our mission as a collaborative team is to cultivate a nourishing atmosphere where you can dive deep into wholeness.
I hope you will join us as we continue to grow our wellness community.

What people are saying:
"Kara’s retreat at Salted Roots was just what I needed. After recently making a cross-country move to Alaska I was feeling very emotionally unsettled. When asked at the retreat to describe in one word what I was hoping to get out of the weekend, my word was “peace”.
I definitely received much needed peace that weekend. I left feeling renewed and have had a completely different mindset ever since. The retreat was a wonderful opportunity to spend time nurturing my self all while being around some incredibly inspiring ladies.
Kara is so compassionate and led us in such meaningful yoga meditation sessions that enabled me to reach a state of relaxation I had not before been in. It was just what I needed. Nature, healthy meals, serene cabins on the ocean and a wonderful instructor all made for the perfect weekend retreat.”
"In the past few years I’ve decided to seek out holistic care and it has made all the difference. Dr. Christie is knowledgeable, attentive and will help you develop realistic goals for your optimal health & wellbeing.
The acupuncture and cupping session was just what I needed to feel restored after months of postpartum aches and pains. She even held my baby so I could get the most out of my treatment. 🙏🏽"
