Located at Salted Roots Cabins in Seward, Alaska

Salted Roots Cabins is located at Lowell Point in Seward, Alaska. It is hidden in a private temperate rainforest surrounded with spruce trees, eagles, hiking trails, and the peaceful sounds of nature.

It is a short stroll to the beach where you can catch a glimpse of glorious mountains shooting up through the ocean’s surface. There are often sightings of humpback whales, sea otters with their babies, or catch a glimpse of harbor seals.

It is the perfect remote getaway without being remote.

 

The beautiful A-frame cabins offer meditative moments next to the pellet stove fireplace or curl up on a cozy sofa for journaling time. It has a free standing bathtub for a chance to soak away tension in a shower room as large as a guest bedroom.

The cabin comes fully equipped with a full kitchen where seasonal meals will be prepared along with a huge deck to relax & listen to nature's sounds. 

Each cabin will house three guests. You have an option for a private room with a King bed or a shared loft with a twin bed.

There are also two cottages on site featuring an upstairs private room with a king bed & balcony along with a queen murphy cabinet bed downstairs.

Salted Roots Cabins opened in March of 2020 by locals Matt & KellyAnn Cope. Their hidden escape makes it the perfect and safe remote destination for a yoga retreat. We highly recommend booking a stay here anytime you visit Seward!

Kara Troglin

Yoga Teacher, Author, Photographer

It is a long time passion of mine to hold sacred space for students to come home to themselves.

I am an E-RYT 500, YACEP, Meditation teacher, and currently training to become an Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist. 

I've been hosting yoga wellness retreats on the Kenai Peninsula for many years and it brings me so much joy to share my home with you.

My teachings are trauma informed, evidence based, and mental health aware with a fusion of psychology, education & neuroscience. I share practices that are therapeutic and ease anxiety & depression.

My aim is to create a wellness experience carefully crafted to nourish not only the physical body, but the mental & emotional body as well.

There is a magical energy that comes with unplugging from everything and absorbing the natural wonders of the Alaskan forest.

When we take the journey inwards in a safe & healing environment we can process life in a radical way. 

It invites rest, nourishment, and compassion towards yourself.

Our mission as a collaborative team is to cultivate a nourishing atmosphere where you can dive deep into wholeness.

Amanda Lyon

Yoga Teacher & Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist

Amanda Lyon is a Sivananda Certified Yoga Instructor (2001), Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (2004), Pancha Karma Specialist (2004), Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist (2006), and is currently a Master’s of Social Work student through the University of Alaska, Anchorage where she is working with the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault for practicum.  

For the last 18 years, Amanda has worked on  Ayurvedic curriculum development and education for schools located in California, Wisconsin, and Alaska. Her specializations included herbal studies, intern supervision, and practitioner training.

As a yoga instructor and practitioner, Amanda uses trauma-informed principles, mindfulness, and compassion-based interventions to meet and support each student where they are at.

Rose Hart

Yoga Guide & Retreat Assistance

Rose is a new yoga guide and is passionate about offering accessible, inclusive, safe yoga for all.

Rose uses she/her pronouns and has been nurturing her yoga practice, and guiding others in breath and movement, within the Dena'ina Native Lands of the Anchorage area.

Rose is currently continuing her yoga practice through a 300hr Yoga Guide training led by David Westlake via Integration.

Her dream is to one day organize a mutual aid program that offers free community yoga, complete with all of the support tools, and free therapy from licenced counselors.

When she isn't practicing yoga, Rose is likely experimenting in the kitchen or adventuring in the great Alaska outdoors with her partner and their little dog, Daisy.

Brand NEW cottages overlooking Resurrection Bay

When booking a spot in the cottages you have an unobstructed view of Resurrection Bay and Mount Alice, the tallest mountain in Seward. This offers glacial scenery with spacious features, ultimate relaxation, and complete privacy.

Upstairs is the master bedroom with floor to ceiling windows and a private deck. Downstairs is a queen pull out cabinet bed with a glass garage door.

The forest sits behind the cottages with the beach right at your doorstep. Truly spectacular.

Cancellation Policy:

If you need to cancel your reservation less than 30 days before the scheduled retreat date, you will forfeit your deposit, unless we are able to fill your spot with another participant.

We regret that any cancellations less than 14 days are subject to a cancellation fee in the amount of 100% of the retreat cost. Fees are completely non-refundable and non-transferable.

Full payment is due 14 days prior to retreat start date.

We do not offer credit for arriving late or leaving early.

Exceptions to this policy are only under specific circumstances.

Proof of first & second vaccination will be required to attend.
