Located at Salted Roots Cabins in Seward, Alaska

Salted Roots Cabins is located at Lowell Point in Seward, Alaska. It is hidden in a private temperate rainforest surrounded with spruce trees, eagles, hiking trails, and the peaceful sounds of nature.

It is a short stroll to the beach where you can catch a glimpse of glorious mountains shooting up through the ocean’s surface. There are often sightings of humpback whales, sea otters with their babies, or catch a glimpse of harbor seals.

It is the perfect remote getaway without being remote.

On the property are two A-frame cabins and a retro A-frame bus tucked into the forest along with two cottages where you can view Resurrection Bay.

The property also includes a wood barrel sauna surrounded by spruce tip trees. It is a meditative atmosphere to unwind and relax.

Salted Roots Cabins opened in March 2020 by locals Matt and KellyAnn Cope.

Their hidden escape makes it the perfect and safe remote destination for a yoga retreat.

We highly recommend booking a stay here anytime you visit Seward!

"Nourish in Nature Yoga Retreat was phenomenal!

I was welcomed with complete acceptance, and felt nourished and cared for all weekend. There was plenty of time between each activity for me to feel rested. The classes were easy to follow, made me feel safe in doing what I felt was right for my body, and taught me more than just poses.

It really was a weekend of being nourished in nature, and one I'll return to often."

Supportive Community and Connection

"Kara’s retreat at Salted Roots was just what I needed. After recently making a cross-country move to Alaska I was feeling very emotionally unsettled. When asked at the retreat to describe in one word what I was hoping to get out of the weekend, my word was “peace”.

I definitely received much needed peace that weekend. I left feeling renewed and have had a completely different mindset ever since. The retreat was a wonderful opportunity to spend time nurturing my self all while being around some incredibly inspiring ladies.

Kara is so compassionate and led us in such meaningful yoga meditation sessions that enabled me to reach a state of relaxation I had not before been in.  It was just what I needed. Nature, healthy meals, serene cabins on the ocean and a wonderful instructor all made for the perfect weekend retreat.”
