This workshop is a two part live streamed series:

🌟 December 16th 6pm-8pm AKDT - Yoga for Depression


Both include an educational lecture, gentle yoga movements, meditation, mantra sounds, and breath work. We will finish with a soothing relaxation practice to activate our parasympathetic (rest & digest) system. 

We will be diving into the science of yoga and evidence based practices to better self-regulate the mind-body connection.


This is a safe, inclusive, accessible, and trauma informed space for all bodies.

Hi, I'm Kara.

It is a long time passion of mine to hold safe space for students to come home to themselves. I live in the beautiful seaside town of Seward, Alaska where I host yoga wellness retreats.

I am an E-RYT 500, YACEP, Meditation teacher, & training to become an Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist. 

My teachings are trauma informed, evidence based, and mental health aware with a fusion of psychoeducation & neuroscience. I share practices that are therapeutic and ease anxiety & depression.

My aim is to create a wellness experience carefully crafted to nourish not only the physical body, but the mental & emotional body as well.

I teach with inclusive, welcoming & invitational language to students of all bodies.

Yoga isn't just about poses or shapes. It is the mindful, somatic movement of daily life, the experience of breath, & coming home to yourself.

What will you need for the workshop?


Zoom - You can download it for free here.

A quiet & peaceful space where you will be undisturbed.

Yoga mat or blanket to lay on

Bolster, thick pillow, or cushion

Cozy blanket

Yoga blocks (you may use shoeboxes, big books, or tupperware - get creative!)

Pen & paper or journal

Your favorite beverage - maybe a cup of tea!

You might like to have candles or aromatherapy to set the mood.

A great attitude and an open mind!

*You have the option to turn off your video camera and microphone. You do not have to share or talk.
