We will dive into the science of the nervous system and evidence based practices for the mind-body connection.
We will finish with a soothing relaxation practice to activate the parasympathetic (rest & digest) system.

Hi, I'm Kara.
I'm an experienced trauma-informed yoga and meditation teacher. I am also currently training as an Ayurvedic yoga therapist with a focus in trauma recovery.
I live in the beautiful seaside town of Seward, Alaska where I host yoga wellness retreats.
My teachings are trauma informed, evidence based, and mental health aware with a fusion of psychology and neuroscience.
My aim is to create a wellness experience carefully crafted to nourish not only the physical body, but the mental and emotional body as well.
I teach with inclusive, welcoming and invitational language to students of all bodies.
Yoga isn't just about poses or shapes. It is the mindful, somatic movement of daily life, the experience of breath, and coming home to yourself.
